The Indonesia AI Institute (IAII), in collaboration with Queenrides, organized a webinar titled “Good Grades Alone Are Not Enough in the AI Era: What Skills Must Children Have?” The event was held on January 11, 2025, and was designed for parents seeking to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing children’s education amid the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The webinar featured Iim Fahima Jachja, Founder of Queenrides and Strategic Advisor to the Indonesia AI Institute. As a practitioner with extensive experience at the intersection of technology, education, and human empowerment, Iim Fahima provided valuable and practical insights to help parents navigate the profound changes shaping today’s world.

One of the key concerns that inspired the webinar was a phenomenon increasingly observed among young people: many children appear academically successful, yet struggle when faced with pressure, distractions, and uncertainty. This condition is not necessarily a reflection of individual weakness but rather a consequence of living in a world that is far more complex and dynamic than the one experienced by previous generations.

Artificial Intelligence is accelerating every aspect of life—information is more abundant than ever, standards continue to rise, and future success can no longer be predicted solely by academic performance. Today’s children are expected to make decisions more quickly, adapt more frequently, and remain resilient amid constant change. In this context, the true challenge of education has shifted. The question is no longer simply how children can achieve high academic performance, but how they can thrive, grow, and remain relevant in an ever-evolving world.

This webinar was specifically designed to encourage parents to view the new realities of education and the future of work in the AI era through a strategic lens rather than one of fear or uncertainty. The discussion explored how AI is reshaping traditional definitions of success, the critical skills that may not be taught in conventional classrooms, and practical steps parents can take to help prepare their children for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
